asked the Minister for Education when the Commissioner of Public Works will be instructed to carry out repairs to Cullen national school, Mallow, County Cork.

My Department are at present considering communications received from the board of management of Cullen national school, Mallow, County Cork, regarding the need for repairs to the present school building and a suggestion that a new school building be provided.

The Commissioners of Public Works reported recently on these matters and a decision will be conveyed to the school authorities as soon as possible.

Mr. Coughlan

asked the Minister for Education the up-to-date position in relation to the proposed new national school for Laghey, County Donegal.

It is proposed to extend Laghey national school, County Donegal, to provide accommodation in four classrooms and a general purposes room. Sketch plans have been approved and a grant has been sanctioned towards the cost of the project. The further architectural planning arangements are a matter for the Commissioners of Public Works.
