Limerick East): The person concerned retired on 29 December and the payment of gratuity and pension has already been authorised by my Department.
The facts concerning the payment of the balance of pay and allowances due in respect of the period up to the date of retirement are complex and they include the fact that there was delay on the part of the person concerned in submitting the necessary medical evidence that he was unfit for duty during the period. The outstanding amount will be paid as soon as possible.
