There is no record in my Department of an application for a housing improvement grant from the person named. There is however an application from a person of the same surname with a broadly similar address but as the full name of the person to which the question relates has not been supplied it is not possible to confirm if this is the same case.

The application received in this case has been refused because, contrary to a qualifying condition of the scheme, the specified waiting period from the date of a previous grant in respect of the house has not elapsed. The applicant was so informed on 23 March 1984.

There has been no undue delay in dealing with this case. A grant cannot be paid until an inspection establishes that the house is completed and occupied and complies with all other conditions governing the grant scheme. The file is with my Department's inspector for investigation and report.
