Vol. 352 No. 3

Written Answers. - Kerry, TV Reception.

464.

asked the Minister for Communications when the television reception will be improved in the Dingle Gaeltacht and also in the Derrymore-Camp area, west of Tralee; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

This is primarily a matter for RTE who state that they are engaged in a programme to improve reception in the Dingle Gaeltacht area, beginning with an installation at Mount Eagle which they hope to have completed by the autumn. On completion of that installation another will be put into operation in the Ballydavid area to cater for the remaining areas such as Ballyferriter.

There is no change in the position in regard to reception in the Derrymore-Camp area since my reply of 26 January 1984. An interference problem experienced at the time in the Camp area has since been cleared.
