Vol. 353 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Longford Group Water Schemes.

24.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will give immediate sanction to proceed to the Clonback, County Longford, group water scheme; and if he will outline the reason for the delay.

State grants totalling £11,600 were provisionally allocated for this scheme on 10 September 1984 thus enabling work on the scheme to proceed.

My Department's local inspector will visit the scheme shortly and an instalment of grants will be paid to the group if warranted on the basis of expenditure incurred up to the date of his visit.

25.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will now give approval to proceed to the Ballinamuck, County Longford, group water scheme; and if he will outline the reason for the delay.

The revised design for the Ballinamuck scheme is under examination in my Department in the light of Longford County Council's conditions for approving it and the position in regard to a related group scheme development proposed for Dromard.

26.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will now give approval to proceed with the Abbeyshrule, County Longford, group water scheme which has been held up for the past two years; and if he will make a statement on the extraordinary delay involved in this scheme.

The proposals for this scheme are being examined as a matter of urgency so that the allocation of grants can be considered as soon as the group submit all grant applications for the scheme — at present applications submitted relate to 100 only out of approximately 450 prospective members of the group.
