asked the Minister for Justice if he considers that legislation and existing law is adequate to deal with the transmission and circulation of material that would reasonably be regarded as offensive to minority religious, racial or ethnic groupings in the country.

For reasons which have been explained in this House on a number of occasions already, I could not undertake to indicate, by way of reply to parliamentary questions, what legislative proposals I might have in a particular area. When and according as I am authorised by the Government to announce legislative proposals, those proposals are announced in the ordinary course. The matter mentioned in the second question is one that would fall to be considered in the context of any such proposals.
