My sanction is not required to the filling of the office referred to by the Deputy. I understand that Wexford County Council have a vacancy in the office of senior executive (planning), but that a temporary appointment has been made to the office from the local authority's staff. Consideration is being given to the declaration of qualifications to enable the local authority to request the Local Appointments Commissioners to hold a competition and recommend to them a person to fill the office on a permanent basis.
