There are no proposals with my Department for either the Castleblayney water supply augmentation scheme or the Monaghan town water supply augmentation scheme. I understand, however, that a preliminary report on a scheme to augment the Castleyblayney water supply is being prepared by Castleblayney Urban District Council. It is now a matter for the local authority to submit this report to my Department for examination and approval if in order. I understand that in the case of Monaghan town the local authority are seeking a suitable source to augment the existing water supply.
