Limerick East): The allocation of Garda manpower between foot patrols and other duties in any particular area is a matter for the local Garda officers having regard to available resources, local circumstances and other demands on Garda services.
I am informed by the Garda authorities that the Garda officers at Rathfarnham station are not in a position at present to provide additional foot patrols to cover the Mountainview area but that the matter will be kept under review. I understand that the Mountainview area receives regular attention from mobile patrols operated by uniform and plainclothes units based at Rathfarnham and that the area also benefits from its close proximity to Rathfarnham station.
