Vol. 354 No. 3

Written Answers. - Grant and Mortgage Subsidy Payments.

597.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a reconstruction grant of £1,208 will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Louth.

This grant has been paid.

598.

Mr. Coughlan

asked the Minister for the Environment whether a house improvement grant has been approved in respect of a person (details supplied) in County Donegal; and the amount of grant approved.

The application in this case was in respect of the installation of water and sewerage facilities, the building of a bathroom and the carrying out of necessary repairs to the basic fabric of the house. Bathroom and repair grants cannot be allowed in this case as Donegal County Council have already approved an essential repairs grant. A grant of £400 has been approved in respect of the water and sewerage categories.

599.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a new house grant and mortgage subsidy will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Carlow.

An inspection carried out in September 1984 established that the House was occupied but not completed. When the person named notifies my Department that his house has been completed, a further inspection will be arranged with a view to payment of the grant, if in order. The applicant did not obtain a mortgage and consequently is not entitled to mortgage subsidy.
