asked the Minister for Labour the number of applications made to AnCO, the industrial training authority, for participation in various AnCO Courses during each of the past three years and the total number of applicants who succeeded in gaining a place on those courses.

The number of persons applying to AnCO for training and the number who entered training, during the three years is as follows:

The National Manpower Service is also a source of recruitment to AnCO Courses. Those recruited through this avenue are included in (a) and (b) above.

In addition to the above, AnCO recruits a number of first year apprentices through the National Manpower Service over and above those sponsored by employers. The particulars are as follows:
