Vol. 354 No. 12

Written Answers. - Beaumont (Dublin) Hospital.

217.

asked the Minister for Health (a) if work on the construction of the main hospital building of Beaumont hospital has been completed; (b) whether a nurses' and doctors' residence will be provided; (c) when the hospital will be equipped; and (d) when it will open.

218.

asked the Minister for Health when it is intended to commence building a new nurses' home and doctors' residence at Beaumont, Dublin.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 217 and 218 together.

Construction of the hospital building is now completed and the contractors left the site in August of this year. I do not intend to provide a separate doctors' and nurses' residence at the expense of the Exchequer. The Beaumont hospital board are at present examining alternative arrangements for providing such accommodation. The hospital is being equipped at present and is scheduled to open in July 1985.
