The promotion of the scheme is primarily a matter for the dairies in co-operation with the schools. In an effort to have the scheme more widely used my Department's officials have met with the various interests involved — the dairies, the National Dairies' Association, the National Dairy Council and representatives of the teachers unions. As a result of these meetings an intensive publicity campaign was launched recently by the National Dairy Council. Individual dairies have also undertaken to increase their effort to promote the scheme. It is understood that there has been some increase in consumption recently and I am hopeful that this publicity drive will have the desired effect.
