Vol. 354 No. 12

Written Answers. - Rathfarnham (Dublin) School.

470.

asked the Minister for Education if she will sanction immediately the carrying out of all necessary works at St. Mary's boys school, Grange Road, Rathfarnham, Dublin, to enable the school yard to be properly surfaced and properly drained; when the Commissioners for Public Works examined the school so as to make recommendation on this matter to her Department; the date her Department received the Commissioners' report; and the reason for the delays that have occurred as the school yard is posing a serious danger to the health and safety of the children using the school.

My Department have asked the Commissioners of Public Works to investigate a complaint by the chairman of the board of management of St. Mary's boys' National School, Grange Road, Rathfarnham, Dublin, that the tarmacadamed surface of the yard was wearing away. The commissioners' report and recommendations are awaited. My Department will communicate with the chairman as soon as the commissioners' report comes to hand. I have had the Deputy's representations conveyed to the commissioners.
