The administration of the scheme of special housing aid for the elderly is under the control of a task force set up under the aegis of my Department. I understand that, in the light of recent events, the general question of the safety of the elderly catered for under this scheme was considered at a meeting of the task force held on Tuesday, 11 December 1984.
