I recently approved the Athgoe/Castlewarden water supply scheme, stage II, proposal submitted by Dublin County Council. It is now a matter for the county council to decide when the scheme will commence. It would not be appropriate for me to disclose the estimated cost at this stage lest there should be any change in the local authority's intention to have the work carried out by direct labour.
