My Department on 14 June 1983 indicated their agreement in principle to the erection of a new school building for the location referred to in County Longford, to replace an existing unsuitable national school building under Church of Ireland management subject to a suitable site being offered.
A formal offer of a site was received by my Department on 19 September 1983 which was declared suitable by the Commissioners of Public Works following inspection. It is understood from the Commissioners that preparation of a preliminary sketch scheme is nearing completion in their office, and will be transmitted in the near future to my Department for consideration. My Department will then communicate with the school authorities.
