(Limerick West) asked the Minister for the Environment the yield from motor taxation, driving licence revenue, and driving testing fees in County Limerick for the years 1980 to 1984 inclusive.

The amounts of motor licence duty (including driver licence fees) collected and lodged to the local motor tax accounts by Limerick County Council and Limerick Corporation were as follows:

The figures have been rounded off to the nearest thousand pounds. The 1984 figures have yet to be reconciled with the bank statements for that year. As regards the information requested in relation to driver testing fees separate figures are not readily available in relation to County Limerick. In 1984, £1.18 million was collected in driver testing fees for the country as a whole.
