asked the Minister for Finance the reason Mitchelstown Co-operative has not been paid moneys outstanding from a firm (details supplied) in County Donegal who are in receivership since 1978 as it is stated that the reason for the delay in payment is because of the slowness in processing the case by the Revenue Commissioners.

I have been informed by the Revenue Commissioners that because of the secrecy obligations imposed on them in relation to the tax affairs of individual taxpayers and companies, they are precluded from giving any detailed information in this case. They have, however, stated that any claim for repayment of tax which may be received will be processed as quickly as possible.
