Vol. 356 No. 1

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

572.

asked the Minister for Agriculture when he will pay a grant in respect of a new milk bulk tank to a farmer (details supplied) in County Wexford.

There is no record of an application in respect of a bulk tank from the person mentioned nor was such an item included in his farm plan. Grants for bulk milk tanks are not available under the revised farm modernisation scheme which came into effect on 3 January 1984.

573.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will arrange for immediate payment of cattle headage grants to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

The person named will be paid his cattle headage, calf premium and calved heifer grants when the batches which include his payments are processed in due course.

A decision on whether or not he is eligible for 1984 EC suckler cow premium will be made when an assessment of his off-farm income and his on-farm income is completed by field staff.

574.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will arrange for the immediate payment of the balance of cattle headage grants due to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

Under the disadvantaged areas schemes, no applicant may receive in the form of cattle and sheep headage payments combined more than the equivalent of £18 per acre of the area of his farm. As the person named has already received the £185.40 due to him on his 10.3 acres by way of £161.50 sheep headage and £23.90 cattle headage, no further cattle headage payment is now due to him.

575.

asked the Minister for Agriculture when a headage grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

The person named will be paid his sheep headage grant shortly.
