Vol. 357 No. 2

Written Answers. - Redundancy Money Payment.

563.

asked the Minister for Labour the present position with regard to an appeal by a person (details supplied) in County Galway against a decision by his Department refusing him payment of redundancy money.

To be eligible for a redundancy payment under the Redundancy Payments Acts, a worker must be in employment fully insurable for all benefits under the Social Welfare Acts. My Department were advised by the Department of Social Welfare that this worker's employment was not regarded as being full insurable. However, I understand that he has appealed to the Department of Social Welfare in the matter and that his position is being reviewed.
