Vol. 357 No. 5

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take Nos. 1, 8, 9 and 10.

By agreement the Dáil shall sit later than 5.30 p.m. today and not later than 9 p.m. and business shall be interrupted at 8.30 p.m.

Also by agreement the proceedings on all stages of item 1 shall be brought to a conclusion not later than 11.30 a.m. today by one question which shall be put from the Chair and which shall in relation to amendments include only amendments set down by the Minister for Energy.

Also by agreement the proceedings on the Second Stage of item 8 shall be brought to a conclusion at 8.30 p.m. today and the Minister for Industry, Trade, Commerce and Tourism shall be called on to conclude not later than 8.10 p.m. The speech of each member on item 8 shall not exceed 30 minutes.

Also by agreement, at the conclusion of business today, the Dáil shall adjourn until 10.30 a.m. on Friday, 29 March 1985.

Are the arrangements for the late sitting, for the conclusion of item No. 1 and the Second Stage of item No. 8, and the arrangement to sit tomorrow agreed?

Agreed.

I know I sound a little like troubling the House, but in advance of anything I might say I apologise.

Your presence is always a pleasure.

For the third day in a row I am asking to raise on the Adjournment the decision of the Voluntary Health Insurance Board——

I will communicate with the Deputy.

You are aware of the content of my request?

You have it off by heart?

I am persistent, if nothing else, and it might pay off.

Item No. 1 must be concluded by 11.30 a.m. and I ask for the co-operation of the House.

In view of the serious difficulties that arose in air traffic control at Dublin Airport yesterday would the Taoiseach or the Minister for Communications indicate when money will be provided for air traffic control?

I could not allow that on the Order of Business.

The report of the Committee on Marriage Breakdown is due to be issued on Tuesday next. May I ask the Taoiseach what arrangements have been made for the circulation of that report? Will it be circulated to Deputies on Tuesday?

That is not in order. It is not a matter for the Taoiseach but for the committee.

The report is due to be issued next Tuesday. Who is responsible for circulating it?

It is a matter for the committee.

May I have information from somebody because we are not represented on that committee?

The Chair cannot help the Deputy. I am very sorry.

I just want to know what is happening. Surely somebody can tell us?

Approach the committee.

Can you tell us what is happening?

The Deputy will get a copy on Tuesday.

(Limerick West): I want to give notice of my intention to raise on the Adjournment the farm price negotiations which are going on at present in Brussels.

I will communicate with the Deputy.

May I ask the Taoiseach or the Minister for Communications to assure the House and the people of Cork that they will not introduce the proposed levy which is being floated around in a report——

That is not relevant on the Order of Business.

This is very important and I want to know for the people of Cork.

Will the Minister for Agriculture publish the submission which the Government made last August to the EC Commission in relation to the changes of boundaries of the disadvantaged areas?

That is not in order.

On the Order of Business, we agreed to take all Stages of No. 1 today. However, there are some provisions in the Bill which we should like to have a second look at. May I suggest to the Taoiseach that we take First and Second Stages today and leave Committee Stage until tomorrow morning? I accept that we have already agreed to the other procedure but perhaps, we could, by agreement, make this small change.

Certainly.
