asked the Minister for the Environment when a home improvement grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Offaly.

A grant cannot be allowed in this case because, contrary to a statutory condition of the scheme, the work had commenced before an inspection of the house was carried out. The applicant was so informed in September 1984.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a home improvement grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Offaly.

This grant will be paid shortly.

asked the Minister for the Environment when he will pay a new house grant to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford in respect of a house for which be obtained a loan from the county council and which qualified, in every respect, for a grant.

A new house grant can only be paid where an applicant is providing a new house. The building being provided in this case consists of an extension to an existing house and it incorporates some rooms from the older building. In the circumstances a grant cannot be allowed.
