asked the Minister for Justice the action that has been taken by the Garda to trace a retarded person (details supplied) who has been missing from Stewarts Hospital, Palmerstown, Dublin 20, since 8 February 1985.

Limerick East): The Garda Síochána, on humanitarian grounds, have taken all steps reasonably open to them to find the man concerned and are aware that various other agencies or groups have also joined in the attempts to find him and that many members of the public have in one way or another sought to help. The Garda for their part have conducted searches and both the Garda Sub-Aqua Unit and the Dog Unit have been involved. Various kinds of publicity have been used, through the media and otherwise. Garda efforts in the matter are continuing.
