Vol. 357 No. 7

Written Answers. - Unfair Dismissals Appeal.

880.

asked the Minister for Labour if any action can be taken to seek the reinstatement of a person (details supplied) in Dublin 7 who was made redundant in December 1984, as another person was employed within three months to take his place.

If the person concerned considers that he was unfairly selected for redundancy or dismissed for reasons other than redundancy, he is entitled to bring a claim against his employer before a rights commissioner or the Employment Appeals Tribunal under the Unfair Dismissals Act, 1977. A claim for redress under this Act must be lodged within six months from the date of dismissal. Copies of the appropriate form for making an appeal and an explanatory booklet on the Act are available on request from my Department.
