Vol. 357 No. 7

Written Answers. - Redundancy Payments.

884.

asked the Minister for Labour when he will pay a rebate from a redundancy fund to an employer (details supplied) in County Wexford.

The employer concerned submitted a claim for rebate from the redundancy fund on 28 June 1983. The claim was incomplete and the employer was asked to supply certain information to enable the claim to be processed. Two reminders were issued in the matter but no reply was received. I have now arranged for the Redundancy Payments Section of my Department to write again to the employer for the necessary information. As soon as the information is received from the employer, the question of his entitlement to a payment of the rebate will be dealt with immediately.

(Limerick West) asked the Minister for Labour when a claim for redundancy payment will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick.

According to details on redundancy certificates supplied to my Department, the employee concerned acknowledged receipt of a statutory lump sum from the administrators of the estate of her late employer on 13 September 1984 and of a supplementary payment on 5 November 1984. A rebate, in respect of the redundancy lump sum paid to the employee, was paid to the administrators of the estate by my Department on 11 April 1985.
