asked the Minister for the Environment if approval can now be given to the application made by Dublin County Council on 31 July 1984, for approval of the scheme to culvert the stream in front of the new council houses in Tymon North gardens, having regard to the concern of the residents that this hazard is located too closely to their homes; and if he will now also approve the loan application to cover the cost of these works.

The preliminary report for the culverting of the Tymon/Poddle stream at Tymon North is under technical examination in my Department and the question of approving loan facilities to finance this undertaking does not arise at this stage. I am arranging to have the technical examination expedited with a view to an early decision on the proposal.
