Vol. 357 No. 7

Written Answers. - Eastbourne Air Tragedy.

630.

asked the Minister for Communications, with regard to the light aircraft travelling from Dublin to France which crashed on 13 November 1984 causing the death of nine people (details supplied), if he will state if he is happy that all necessary inquiries have been carried out by the British authorities; and when the outcome of such inquiries will be made public.

I am satisfied that the investigation by the British aeronautical authorities into the Eastbourne tragedy of 13 November last is being carried out in accordance with the normal international procedures and that the investigating team, to which an officer of my Department has been accredited, is doing everything possible to ascertain the cause of the accident. The investigation is still continuing and it is not possible to say, at this stage, when its findings will be made public.
