I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that, following cessation of her employment on 21 December 1984 the taxpayer submitted to the inspector of taxes three claims for repayment of income tax on the grounds of unemployment. The claims were dealt with and cheques in settlement were issued to the taxpayer. However she has intimated that she did not receive the initial cheque. Accordingly, a form of indemnity for completion by the taxpayer was issued on 27 March 1985. This form has since been returned to the Office of the Collector-General. If inquiries, which are at present being made, confirm that the missing cheque has not been cashed another cheque will be issued as soon as possible.
