Written Answers. - Disabled Person's Maintenance Allowance.

asked the Minister for Health the reason a person (details supplied) in Dublin 12 is waiting for 18 months for a final reply to an application for a disabled person's maintenance allowance; and if he will now arrange for this allowance to be paid.

The Eastern Health Board refused an application for a disabled person's maintenance allowance from the person in question on medical grounds. The board's decision was conveyed to the applicant by letter of 13 December 1983.

asked the Minister for Health the reason a person (details supplied) in Dublin 12 is waiting since August 1984 to know the outcome of her application for a disabled person's maintenance allowance; and if, in view of the fact that all of the details are in the possession of the Eastern Health Board at Old County Road, he will now arrange for the allowance to be paid.

The Eastern Health Board is considering an application for a disabled person's maintenance allowance from the person referred to by the Deputy. A decision will be taken within the next few days.

asked the Minister for Health the reason payments of disabled persons maintenance allowance have been discontinued to a person (details supplied) in Dublin 1.

The Eastern Health Board is examining an application for a disabled persons maintenance allowance from the person referred to by the Deputy. A decision will be taken in the very near future. The person was in receipt of a supplementary welfare allowance until 16 March 1985. He has not collected the allowance from the health board since that date.
