Mr. Molloy

asked the Minister for Health if he will give details of the membership of each semi-State and State-sponsored body under his aegis including the names, period of appointment and remuneration to date including all expenses and other payment.

Minister for Health (Mr. B. Desmond)

There are 40 health bodies with a total membership of 820 under the aegis of my Department. The members of four of these boards are in receipt of remuneration as set out in the following table. Information in respect of any board not listed may be obtained by the Deputy on request.

All members of health bodies are recouped travelling and subsistence expenses necessarily incurred in the discharge of their duties, in accordance with regulations and at rates approved by my Department.
