asked the Minister for Education if she will give details of the membership of each semi-State and State-sponsored body under his aegis including the names, period of appointment and remuneration to date including all expenses and any other payments.

Lists of members of bodies in the educational area which could be considered to be State-sponsored are given below. With the exception of the Higher Education Authority, the chairman and members of these bodies receive no remuneration. In the case of the HEA the appropriate rate of allowance to the chairman is £17,328 (exclusive of Civil Service pension) and the ordinary members receive an allowance of £800 per annum.

The chairman and members of all the bodies are entitled to travelling and subsistence allowances at highest Civil Service rates.
