The particulars as compiled from the census of population are given in the statement which follows. At the 1971 and 1981 census of population there was an increasing number of persons for whom no information was supplied under the question on religion. It is not possible to say how this has affected the numbers and derived percentages for individual denominations. In the circumstances the information provided in the table is somewhat more extensive than actually requested.
