I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the inspector of taxes will not be in a position to deal with the taxpayer's claim to repayment until such time as he receives from him details of his income and property transactions. The inspector first requested these details in December 1981 and he last wrote to the taxpayer in the matter in November 1984. The inspector will communicate with him again and when the required information is supplied by the taxpayer his tax position will be brought up to date.

asked the Minister for Finance the reason for the long delay in having a tax problem resolved for a person (details supplied) in County Waterford.
The Revenue Commissioners have advised me that a review of the taxpayer's liability for 1984-85 was carried out and an overpayment arose. A cheque in settlement of the refund due was issued to the taxpayer on 3 April 1985.
