asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in his Department's notification of the Revenue Commissioners that a person (details supplied) in County Limerick has qualified for a mortgage interest subsidy having regard to the fact that the person in question would have an income tax rebate paid to him if the Department had notified the Revenue Commissioners; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

There has been no undue delay in my Department in dealing with this case. This applicant has been paid four installments of the mortgage subsidy to date and the Revenue Commissioners were informed immediately on each occasion.
