asked the Minister for Justice when it is proposed to provide a neighbourhood watch scheme in the Baldoyle area, Dublin 13.

(Limerick East): I propose to take Questions Nos. 31 to 33, inclusive, together.

I refer the Deputy to the reply which I gave to Parliamentary Question No. 544 of 21 March 1985 in which I indicated that following the completion of training for divisional and district officers in the methods of establishing and managing schemes of neighbourhood watch, it was the intention to extend the scheme as widely as possible. Since then training seminars have been completed for officers in the Dublin Metropolitan Area and in Cork, Limerick and Galway. A publicity campaign on crime prevention measures has just been launched which invites local community groups to initiate schemes of neighbourhood watch in their areas.
