Vol. 359 No. 4

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - Additional Garda Stations.

7.

asked the Minister for Justice if he has any proposals to open additional smaller Garda stations in County Dublin to increase contact between the gardaí and local communities; and, if not, if he will consider such proposals.

(Limerick East): There are no proposals at present to provide additional Garda stations in County Dublin. On the question of increasing contact between the Garda and local communities, however, I would refer the Deputy to my reply to Questions Nos. 403 and 404 on 13 December 1984 in which I indicated that the question of establishing “police points” or “police clinics” would be further considered. I an informed by the Garda authorities that the possibility of providing such a facility in some suburban areas of County Dublin is being examined at present.
