Vol. 359 No. 4

Written Answers. - Dundalk Small Industries.

100.

asked the Minister for Industry, Trade, Commerce and Tourism the IDA space that is available in Dundalk for small industries; and if the Government will make space available at a low cost to a local enterprise agency in order to establish self-help incubator units of 10,000 or 12,000 square feet.

The Industrial Development Authority have provided two small industry clusters comprising ten units totalling 32,000 sq. ft. in Dundalk. Eight of these units are now occupied and the remaining two — comprising 6,200 sq. ft. — are being actively promoted for new industry. I understand that the acquisition of space by the local chamber of commerce for an enterprise centre type development is at an advanced stage. The IDA will provide advice and assistance in developing this project.
