I am aware that health boards are concerned about the funding of the General Medical Services (Payment) Board later this year.
As I indicated in reply to a question from the Deputy on 1 June 1985, the question of the measures that might be taken to restrict expenditure by the board to the 1985 budgeted level is being examined.
I will be reviewing the arrangements for funding the board throughout the remainder of the year in the light of the outcome of this examination.
