Vol. 360 No. 3

Written Answers. - Grant and Mortgage Subsidy Payments.

15.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a house improvement grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Carlow.

The application in this case was rejected on 7 November 1982 because, contrary to a statutory condition of the scheme, a period of ten years had not elapsed since the erection of the house. The applicant was so informed.

16.

asked the Minister for the Environment when payment of a new house grant and a mortgage interest subsidy will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

When the person named notifies my Department that the house is complete and occupied a further inspection will be arranged with a view to payment of the grant, if in order. An application for payment of the mortgage subsidy has not yet been received from the applicant.

17.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a person (details supplied) in County Wexford was refused a £1,000 new house purchaser's grant in 1977 by his Department.

A new house grant of £1,000 could not be paid in this case because a new house grant under a previous scheme was paid to the builders involved in respect of the same house in 1977.
