asked the Minister for Finance if he will specify, where Government contracts are being issued, that the copper tubing being used on such contracts be subjected to IIRS standards and kite marked.

It is the practice of the Office of Public Works to specify in their contracts, materials and components to Irish standards where such standards exist. Specifications will continue to require that copper pipes shall be certified to the relevant Irish standard. That standard carries the appropriate Irish standard mark.
