Vol. 360 No. 3

Written Answers. - Rosslare Harbour Veterinary Arrangements.

64.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the changes that will be made in relation to the servicing of Rosslare Harbour by veterinary inspectors from October next onwards regarding the deregulation of meat imports and so on under EC regulations; and if the Wexford District Veterinary Office will service the port in the interests of a more efficient service especially to exporters in view of the value of live cattle exports to this country.

The veterinary arrangements for the inspection of meat and livestock at Rosslare Harbour are considered satisfactory. These arrangements will be kept under review in the light of the development of trade arising from the introduction of new regulations for the import of live animals and fresh meat.
