The Commissioners of Public Works could undertake drainage works in this area only in the context of a comprehensive scheme under the Arterial Drainage Act, 1945, for the entire Finn catchment. Having regard to existing commitments and pending the outcome of a review of arterial drainage policy which is currently under consideration I cannot say when a drainage scheme for the Finn might be undertaken.
