asked the Minister for Education if she will supply the following information with regard to the building and civil engineering projects for which she is responsible and which have an estimated final cost in excess of £100,000 and which, having been brought to tender stage in the past five years, have been postponed for longer than one year and which are still postponed: (1) the title of each project; (2) a description of each project; (3) the estimated final cost of each project; (4) the names of the design team consultants and the amount paid to date in fees to each of the design team consultants; and (5) the reason for the postponement of each project and the prospects of the future completion of each project.

School will now be catered for by improving existing building.

Priorswood national school, Dublin city

School extension

*Architect, Quantity Surveyor Engineers engaged by school management.Grants paid towards fees £46,000 (unapportioned as between consultants).

The needs of the school were met by the provision of prefabs.

St. Martin's Special School, Waterford

New School building

£596,000

*Architect, Quantity Surveyor and Engineers engaged by school management.Grant paid towards fees £64,570 (unapportioned as between consultants)

The work was abandoned at an early stage of construction as important archeological features were uncovered on site. A new school is to be built elsewhere.
