Vol. 361 No. 1

Written Answers. - Redundancy Payments.

416.

asked the Minister for Labour if he will ensure that redundancy payment in lieu of notice and arrears of holiday pay is issued to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

The only formal application received by my Department from the person concerned was under the Protection of Employees (Employers' Insolvency) Act, 1984, for payment of holiday pay. The applicant was advised that, in accordance with statutory regulations made under that Act, the application should be submitted through the liquidator of the company in which she had been employed.

I understand that, in addition, the Employment Appeals Tribunal has determined that the person concerned is entitled to a statutory redundancy lump sum and payment in lieu of notice under the Minimum Notice Act. She should now apply for payment of the redundancy lump sum by submitting a completed form RP14 directly to my Department. In regard to the minimum notice award, she should submit a completed form IP2 to the liquidator of the company who will apply to my Department for payment. I am arranging to send the Deputy the appropriate forms RP14 and IP2 for completion by the person concerned.
