Vol. 361 No. 1

Written Answers. - Housing Grant Refusals.

69.

asked the Minister for the Environment the number of new house grant applications refused since the scheme was inaugurated due to the CRV specification; and, in view of the fact that this clause was subsequently abolished, if he will reconsider payments to applicants who were refused on this basis as in the case of persons (details supplied) in County Wexford.

As records of refused applications are not segregated on the basis of the grounds for refusal, the information requested by the Deputy is not readily available in my Department.

The payment of the grant in particular cases is subject to the conditions applying at the time. In the case referred to by the Deputy, a grant cannot be allowed as the statutory condition which then applied in relation to Certificates of Reasonable Value was not complied with.
