My Department have agreed to grant-aid the provision of a system-built classroom at the school referred to by the Deputy in lieu of an existing obsolete classroom. At present a report from my Department's professional advisers, who have been dealing with the matter locally, is awaited on the suitability and cost of an appropriate replacement. It is not my Department's practice to give details of the financial arrangements in connection with individual school projects.

asked the Minister for Education if she will sanction an extension for a school (details supplied) in County Galway; the amount of money that will be sanctioned; the total area of the new extension; when the work will commence and any other relevant details; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
A new extension of 971m² for the school in question has been approved. The school authorities were authorised to seek tenders on 30 September 1985. These are currently awaited in my Department. Pending the receipt of these tenders and their examination in the Department it is not possible to say when the work will commence or to give any other details regarding the project. The amount of money sanctioned for this project is a confidential matter between my Department and the school manager.
