Vol. 361 No. 10

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

23.

asked the Minister for the Environment when the inspection of a house of a person (details supplied) in County Longford will be carried out, with a view to the payment of a house improvement grant.

On receipt of notification of completion of outstanding works, a final inspection will be arranged with a view to payment of the grant.

24.

asked the Minister for the Environment when an inspection in respect of an application for a new house grant will take place for a person (details supplied) in County Longford.

Following an inspection the applicant was informed in June 1985 that the floor area of the house was in excess of the statutory maximum allowable for grant purposes and that a grant could not be allowed. Revised plans submitted recently are not acceptable because they do not affect the floor area and consequently the application must stand rejected.

25.

asked the Minister for the Environment the present position regarding the application for a new house grant of a person (details supplied) in County Longford.

Following an inspection of the house in this case the applicant was issued with a list of works remaining to be completed and asked to obtain clearance from the county medical officer on the effluent disposal system to the house. Notification has not been received to date that these matters have been attended to and a further inspection cannot be arranged until it is received.

26.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in the payment of the £5,000 grant to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick who has surrendered his house to Limerick Corporation in December 1984; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The processing of applications for the £5,000 grant is a matter for the appropriate local authority. In this case the grant will be paid by my Department if and when a payment certificate is received from the local authority confirming that all the conditions of payment have been met.
