The only application on record in this case related to the 1981 scheme of house improvement grants. This application was rejected on 22 February 1983 because, contrary to a statutory condition of eligibility, the work had commenced before an inspection of the house was carried out by the Department's inspector.

A grant will be paid when an inspection establishes that the house is completed and occupied and that all the conditions applying to the grant scheme have been fulfilled. The inspection will be carried out as soon as possible.
