Vol. 362 No. 5

Written Answers. - Bank Security Measures.

146.

asked the Minister for Justice in view of the recent increase in the problems of security of banks, if he will review security arrangements in order to safeguard staff members and the public.

Limerick East): I am informed by the Garda authorities that there is close co-operation between the banks and the Garda in the matter of security arrangements at banks. Advice is provided by the Garda to the banks in areas such as security of premises and cash holding procedures. These measures are relevant to the protection of members of the public and of the staff as well as to the protection of cash and the whole situation is kept under constant review.
